Gingivitis Treatment with a Biological Approach

How does gum disease develop?

Have you ever scraped your tooth at the end of that day and have noticed that a white substance rubs off? This is known as plaque.

Plaque is simply a yellowish-white film composed of bacteria, small particles, proteins and mucus. This plaque continuously accumulates on the teeth and gums.

With proper brushing and flossing, plaque is easily removed. If plaque is not removed by brushing and flossing, over time, plaque will calcify (harden).

This hardened plaque is known as tartar and can no longer be removed with simple brushing and flossing, it must be removed through our professional dental cleaning.

The pathogenic bacteria release toxins which damage the gums. They also cause infection and inflammation which activates the immune system. This inflammation of the gums is called gingivitis.

Laser Treatment for Gingivitis

Laser treatment is an effective way to treat early stages of gingivitis.

With only 2 sessions of laser application; we will be able to destroy the toxins and eliminate the gum disease.

In case the gingivitis is not treated then the disease progress to the next stage, which is periodontitis, the tissues around the tooth-gums, bone, and ligaments show erosion and progressive tooth loss.

Note:

Your general health depends on your oral health! Yes, that’s right! It may seem strange but, periodontitis affects your general health and is linked with various diseases like cardiovascular disease and diabetes. So, if you have a healthy mouth you will a healthy body!

Biological treatment of the periodontal disease with laser and PRF

The care cycle from our dental centre includes a thorough cleaning of the dental plaque from the root and the use of a dental laser; a necessary tool that assists in eliminating bacteria and their by-products called toxins.

By using this method of treatment, we achieve the destruction of toxins, contributing to the regeneration of the gums and we may drastically stop the disease of periodontitis, revitalizing your smile.

On top of that, we apply the PRF which implements stem cells and growth factors and is the most natural way of self-healing.

Let’s not forget that our mouth is not a separate part of the body, but an integral part of the whole human system!
